Loved it!!!!

Our family had a wonderful time at the Villa Grand Piton. The Villa is very spacious and well-equipped. The view is absolutely gorgeous. My family loved having meals in the gazebo, especially when the birds came to visit everyday. Relaxing in the pool at the end of an adventurous day was one of our favorite pastimes. We highly recommend hiring Junior’s car service. They were very helpful in arranging activities and they were very accommodating. Doxie was a wonderful cook and very knowledgeable. We have rented many villas from home away in the past, but we have never experienced such a well- organized host as Lorretta. All of her information was accurate, and her response time to questions was better than high end resorts.

Our trip to St. Lucia came about after other plans back in the states fell through, and Villa Grand Piton cemented our desire to travel to the island after reading about the Villa, its reviews, and looking at the photos time and again. We cannot say enough about this place, the environment we called home for a week, and the staff. Doxie’s meals were incredible, Junior and Billy entertained and advised us about excursions while driving us around the island, and Kerryus picked cashews off the tree and roasted them for us! Amazing. The peacefulness of Villa Grand Piton is beyond words. The wildlife sounds will melt away any tension that you might bring with you, and the birds will literally eat out of your hands. St. Lucia should be a vacation destination for those who wish to get away, and Villa Grand Piton is the benchmark for a perfect vacation. Great Villa, wonderful people, and should you elect to dine out a couple nights as we did, two amazing restaurants nearby in Boucan and Dasheene. Just go there and be amazed.

The perfect place for both adventure and relaxation…

This beautiful villa was a perfect home base for our vacation in St Lucia. The excellent communication and helpful hints provided by Loretta started things out on a great note and it just got better from there. The villa has everything you might need and then some. We had the perfect mix of relaxation and sightseeing/adventure! We would go do something fun in the morning (ATV tour, Sulphuric Springs, hiking Gros Piton) and then come back for some poolside relaxation in the afternoon. My morning coffee will not be the same tomorrow without the amazing views! Jacqueline was so helpful and kind and we really enjoyed her local cooking. Billy took great care of us and I’m so glad we didn’t have to drive up and down that hill!

Awesome Villa with Spectacular Views!

We loved our stay at Villa Grand Piton. The villa is fabulous and equipped with everything you need. Upon our arrival, we were served some delicious homemade chicken roti and flatbread. It was perfect after a long day of travel. The accommodations are excellent for larger families. Each bedroom has it’s own bathroom and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. We also took advantage of the large DVD collection on one of our rainy days. I’m glad we took advantage of using the available drivers to get us around the island. It made life so much simpler given that cars drive on the opposite side of the road than in the U.S. I also recommend that you take advantage of Doxie’s wonderful cooking skills during your stay! Bill and Loretta were very responsive and made sure that we had everything we needed to fully enjoy our stay.

THE PLACE: Breathtaking and more beautiful than the pictures! This place is immaculate, although you won’t spend much time indoors! It was very quiet and peaceful while we were there, and we spent much of our time lounging at the pool or playing one of the many games the villa provided. It is so well stocked with everything, including a generous food basket. The beds/pillows are so comfortable, and all beds have netting to help keep out pesky mosquitos. OWNER/STAFF : Owner, Loretta is so buttoned up and professional. Her communication throughout gets an A+. We had Doxie, the housekeeper/chef make dinners for us twice, and a Roti lunch for us one day. She is a fantastic cook, and the portions are extremely generous, providing you with leftovers for the week. She is a really sweet lady. Junior drove us to/from the airport and we stopped at a grocery store before going to the villa. Billy, our driver for the week (works for Junior), was always punctual, and we felt very safe in his care. I do recommend that you take Loretta up on her offer of doing PayPal through her so that you don’t need to carry so much cash. She will explain how that works. It was very helpful. EXCURSIONS: We did a sunset catamaran sail through Mystic Man Tours right in Soufriere, which was great! They had drinks flowing and snacks. We spotted dolphins and the views from the water were just incredible! Well worth the $65 price tag per person ($60 if you pay cash). On another day, we took a boat ride for several hours, starting with snorkeling at Sugar Beach, which was incredible, and going out to sea where we were amongst a pod of dolphins. We got some cool pictures of jumping dolphins. The boat then took us up the coast to Castries, the Capitol, and then to Marigot Bay (gorgeous) where we had lunch, and Mario and Ted pointed out Mick Jagger and George Forman’s homes. We did the Tet Paul Nature Trail which offered beautiful panoramic views, but not sure it was worth the $100 taxi ride and $50 ($10 per person) hike (plus tip). You can stretch out the walk , but really it took no more than 1/2 hour. We snorkeled at the local beach of Anse Chastanet, which was great, and went to the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Several people told us to skip the volcano, and mud baths, so we did, although I’m sure they are nice excursions. We ate out twice. Once at Boucan (in the Hotel Chocolat) and once at Dasheene at the Ladera. Both were delicious, and both accept credit cards

Magnificent Property

My family of 6 recently spent a week vacationing at the Villa Grand Piton. I can’t say enough positive things about the property and staff in particular Doxie and Neal. The owner of the property was extremely organized, responsive, and informative. I would recommend utilizing the driver service as we had a great experience with Billy. I give the Villa Grand Piton my highest recommendation.s

Stop researching–this is it!

We are seasoned travelers that work hard and seek only the finest for our getaways. We splurge for memories. First time to St. Lucia and Villa Grand Piton WILL NOT DISAPPOINT. First, everywhere on St. Lucia requires a walk to the beach–why not first enjoy a private pool with THE MOST AMAZING view of the pitons AND cocktails and snacks from your well appointed kitchen, gaze for a bit out at the ships criss-crossing the sea before strolling down the hill to the THE BEST SNORKELING BEACH (anse chastenet) on the island. Sure, we could have booked a Jade room with a splash pool, BUT why not get a villa for less than half the price in the same location? This is a no-brainer. But–if I say more it will seem like I’m writing a paid advertisement–so let me suggest this–look at the all the photos, compare photos from the other villas, compare size, staff and amenities from Ladera, Jade and Sugar Beach,…. then decide. Bravo Loretta–well done! Thanks for helping to make this trip one for the memory books!

A little slice of HEAVEN here!

We absolutely LOVED Villa Grand Piton – although the hiking, restaurants, snorkeling and zip lines all sounded fun – we’ve done it all before … and in the end, we chose not to tear ourselves away from the perfect villa, the perfect pool and the most heavenly view ever! THE most relaxing vacation my husband and I have ever taken. It was beautiful every day despite saying it might rain. And everything was top notch – Doxie, John and Paul were all so helpful. We did go down to Anse Chastenet to go snorkeling one day and it was lovely (gear is all there at the villa, along with suntan lotion and literally everything else you’d ever need!) – but after a few hours, we decided it was a lot nicer up at the villa, so back we went and never left again except to pick up food or drinks! Fabulous place and though I know there’s lots to do all over St. Lucia – this place is the perfect place to completely relax and do nothing too. Can’t wait to go back!

Our amazing trip to Villa Grand Piton!

We could not have chosen a more magical island, setting or villa! We fell in love with it all, and your beautiful villa was such a spectacular place for us to stay. We simply couldn’t believe how beautiful it all was, and those views, I don’t honestly think you could find anything more beautiful, and ever changing. We were mesmerized by everything from the fisherman first thing, cloud formation over the Pitons, boats, Frigate birds to the sunset and evening sky beyond…..

We spent a lot of time at the villa, especially in the floating sun loungers! What a way to stay cool! We only tore ourselves away when we ran out of provisions, or fancied the beach, snorkeling or a meal out, tough life!!!!

We loved all the beaches for different reasons, the burgers and snorkeling at Anse Mamin are amazing, and what a spot to sit and have a cold Piton and huge burger! We hired a couple of loungers a few times (11$US each) and made a day of it, and once we had eaten lunch they were very happy to bring us drinks etc. Sugar beach was great for snorkeling too, and the fruit man made the most wonderful fresh fruit salad, I don’t think we have ever eaten so many different fruits before, and I had no idea half of them existed!!! He also fed the fish bananas!! We stood with literally hundreds of Sergeant Majors swimming around us taking bananas from our hands! Whilst the food at the beach bar was ok, it was very expensive (I know you had put that very subtly in your notes!) and we got grumpy at 30$US for 2 bottles of water!!! But what a beautiful place!

The villa is situated in an amazing location, not only for its views, but its proximity to all the resorts and restaurants, it’s incredible how many different places there are nearby. It was our downfall! We simply ended up eating out too much! We tried lots of places Apsara (loved it), Sugar beach, beach bar, Hummingbird (lovely food but just no atmosphere..) Mango Tree (tapas night, lovely atmosphere, food was ok) The Beacon (fab & cheap!), Orlandos (incredible food & he was just a legend!) and last but not least Dasheene….(our favourite! Expensive dinner, but just delicious, totally amazing). So as you can see, we did eat out too much, but it had been a long time since we had a family vacation!

Our only struggle was the food shop! I so wanted to eat in more, but we struggled to find stuff! We did try to ‘eat like a local’ but my DH is spectacularly fussy & I didn’t know what half the fruit and vegetables were!!! Doxie was lovely and brought different things up to the villa, but the first day we thought we had purchased a tonne of bananas (my dear “A”..) but they were plantain!!! So I would love an idiots guide to fruit & vegetables in St Lucia!!!! We did take your advice and headed off to Rodney bay, but only made it to Marigot Bay! “L” was turning greener by the minute on the winding roads! We had a lovely boat tour & brunch and headed back!!!

Your staff also deserves a huge mention, they are just lovely. Warm, friendly helpful, discreet and reassuring, you are so lucky to have them all and they were all so special in their own ways and it was such a luxury to have clean bedding and towels every 3 days! Paul keeps your gardens, grounds, BBQ and pool looking spotless and it was always comforting to know John was keeping watch. We had so many great chats with them all, and learnt so much more about St Lucia straight from the experts! You must feel so reassured they are all there, you couldn’t find nicer, kinder people.

“A” and my DH went scuba diving for the first time out there and loved it so much they did it again just before we left. Scott at Scuba St Lucia was just lovely…..”A” is now looking to qualify in her gap year next year…..!!!

Honestly what a holiday, what a place! You are so lucky!!! It is quite simply paradise! We already want to come back, well to be honest we never wanted to leave….! We even grew to love the crazy road! If you are going to get views like that, you need to climb a few hills don’t you?!!! We hired a sailing boat for the afternoon, it was really special, saw literally hundreds of dolphins and snorkeled at Anse Cochon….what a way to spend an afternoon…..but the most incredible of all was to see your beautiful villa from the water. We knew the villa was high up, but it was only at sea that you get a full perspective of how high up it really is. Until that day we had no idea there were several villas beneath, or that the villas we thought were down by the sea level, were also so high up! Finally we understood why you get those panoramic 180 degree views! Villa Grand Piton soars in amongst the top of the hill, creating that spectacular view of ocean, sky and those glorious Pitons! It is worth every second of the drive to get to that setting! It also explained to us why it is so serenely peaceful at the villa, being the second to last villa on the road, no one ever goes past!

One of our favourite times was late, just before bed listening to all those beautiful sounds….total tranquility, and those amazing tiny little tree frogs…how does something so small, make such a beautiful sound?

I just need to brush up on those local fruit and vegetables and a few recipes and there will be no stopping us eating in more next time!!!Thank you for being so brilliantly helpful and for being so informative. I still can’t believe I asked about a hair dryer……

We wouldn’t change a thing, it was magic! We are so grateful that you have chosen to let other people come and experience your slice of heaven! We can’t wait to come back for a second helping in the future!

Paradise found!

Fantastic villa with a spectacular view!

We had a wonderful time at the villa, our home away from home. There were hummingbirds visiting the huge bougainvillea every day, beautiful ships sailing by, beautiful sunsets, and a rainbow one morning. There are even more abundant amenities than listed, including binoculars and a Gorilla pod to hold/balance the camera almost anywhere. The stargazing was incredible. We saw many shooting stars and several fireballs. We watched a couple of movies at nighttime in the media room. It was very nice equipment and selection, and nice to have available. The road is challenging, but not so bad once you get used to it. Definitely take the provided taxi from the airport, and if you’re renting a car, have it delivered to the villa. We loved the botanical gardens, but we’re avid gardeners, so if gardening isn’t your thing, you may not be as impressed. The drive to Castries was beautiful. We took a boat trip with Joy, and it was great even though it poured for at least a half an hour of our 5 hour trip. Our favorite restaurants were Masala Bay (in Marigot Bay) and Martha’s tables (on the road to Sugar Beach). One thing we found was that several places were not as credit card friendly as on other islands. They seemed to have a difficult time running cards at the supermarkets and some restaurants. Doxie and the staff were fantastic, always available for anything we needed.
